The £12m Karbon Homes’ development is located east of Albany Park on five acres of land, previously occupied by Washington Football Club.
The development comprises 42 three-bed houses, 17 two-bed houses,11 four-bed houses, and 6 two-bed bungalows, available for Affordable Rent or Rent to Buy, which will add to the choice and range of housing available within the area.
Albany Park is one of eight developments either currently on site or recently completed as part of a £44m investment by Karbon to build well over 300 homes across the city of Sunderland. Less than four miles away in North Hylton, construction began last September on 105 new homes on the £20m College Grange development.
Designed by Ergo Projects, the Albany Park development will appeal to couples and families looking to live in good quality, affordable homes.
Each modern, energy efficient home has been designed to the highest standards and will include private gardens and dedicated car parking spaces. The layout of the development provides two car parking spaces for the majority of homes and at least one car parking space for some of the smaller properties.
Homes at the entrance of the site off Spout Lane will face the new estate road creating an attractive opening for residents and visitors and existing trees located around the perimeter of the development will be maintained to preserve the character of the local area.
