After testing in areas across the country, a UK-wide alert test will take place in the early evening of Sunday 23 April. As a result you may receive a text message, please be aware this is just a test.
If you are experiencing Domestic Abuse, you may want to opt out of Alerts to avoid revealing a secret phone.
Refuge has produced a video to show you how to opt out of alerts on Android and iPhone devices which you can watch here.
The alerts will only ever come from the Government or emergency services, and they will issue a warning, always include the details of the area impacted, and provide instructions about how best to respond - linking to gov.uk/alerts where people can receive further information.
