Did you know there are amazing activities planned throughout the summer to keep kids entertained and healthy?
Community Investment Manager Paul Moralee gives us a guide to what’s on and where…
The Holiday Activities and Food programme is something every parent needs to know about! Don’t let the dull name put you off. Packed with all kinds of new experiences and fun activities – along with a tasty lunch – it could be just what you’re looking for to keep the kids busy and well-fed over the holidays.
The Government has renewed funding for the programme for three years after a successful trial last summer, so all local councils have money to spend on fun and food for young people who otherwise might miss out.
From drama and dance classes to cooking and outdoor activities, there will be exciting, enriching and fun things to do for all ages.

"The holiday clubs saved me! I am so grateful for them. They entertained my children through the holidays and enabled me to do my day of working. My children had lots of fun, learnt new skills, interacted with other children and were very happy."
"Great for all age groups and it certainly kept them off modern technology."
"My daughter learnt so much about science during the Big Science session and did so in such a fun way. She kept saying, I didn’t know this was science."
"The packed lunches were an added bonus especially when one of the sessions was only 2 hours and she still got lunch provided."
