David Scott is no stranger to a good walk. As one of our Senior Support Workers, David regularly organises Rise Up, a walking group for our Supported Housing customers.
But this March, he’s going to be getting more than his fair share of steps in as he takes on Mind’s 100 Miles in March challenge.
The challenge is to complete 100 miles of walking, running or jogging throughout March to raise money for better mental and physical health.
The challenge is really important to David both personally and professionally:
“If doing this challenge means more awareness is raised around mental health then I will give it my all.
“We are still learning about Mental Health and now, more and more people are opening up about it. (which is awesome!)
“Every person can become vulnerable at any time of their life. It's important we keep recognising the harsh realities that many of us face daily.
“I am doing this challenge for those people who don't feel like they have a voice and those who feel completely alone. Together we can make real change. Together we will strive and conquer the loneliness, isolation and despair and give mental health a good shake up.”
