As award season gets underway, projects and teams across Karbon have been recognised for their commitment to going the extra mile to support our customers and communities.

We’ve been shortlisted in categories across a number a range of regional, housing sector and trade sector awards, highlighting our colleagues' ongoing commitment to delivering our three key strategic aims, to provide good quality homes, deliver an excellent customer service and shape strong sustainable places for our communities.

 

Northern Housing Awards 24

Shining a light on the individuals and organisations who make it their mission to improve homes and communities in the north.

We’ve been shortlisted in three categories

-        Best Resident Safety Initiative

o   Partnership with Harmony Fire on the installation of a new sprinkler system at The Manors, our Extra Care scheme in Prudhoe, West Northumberland

-        Best Use of Technology by a Social Landlord

o   Partnership with Mobysoft to implement the RepairSense tool, using advanced technology to help our Property Services team to improve the quality of our repairs and maintenance service

-        Best Resident Support / Wellbeing Initiative

o   Expansion of our Silver Talk telephone befriending service and the roll out of Silver Friends, an in-person befriending pilot

 

Housing Heroes Awards

Celebrating the leaders, innovators and changemakers across the housing sector.

We’ve been shortlisted in two categories

-        Recruitment campaign of the year

o   Celebrating the success of our New Start placement scheme, which has not only helped us recruit into harder to fill roles but has enabled us to give our residents employment and training opportunities

-        Inspirational leader of the year

o   Paul Fiddaman, Chief Executive of the Karbon Group who we are very proud to have leading our organisations

 

North East Chamber of Commerce Awards

Celebrate the achievements of chamber members in making the North East a great place to live and work.

We’re up for Community Business of the Year

This awards celebrates out commitment to facilitating and enabling community engagement, and supporting and giving back to the communities we operate within.

 

Unlock Net Zero Awards

Recognising and championing progress on the journey to decarbonisation for the UK housing, built environment and property sectors.

We’re up for Green homes upgrade of the year - North and Scotland

for our decarbonisation project in Ouston, County Durham, which has not only visually transformed the estate but has brought the homes up to an EPC rating B through the fitting of external wall and cavity loft insulation, new roofs and PV panels.

 

Constructing Excellence North East Awards

celebration of everything the North East Built Environment has to be proud

We’re up for the Regeneration and Retrofit Award

again, for our decarbonisation project in Ouston, County Durham. This shortlisting celebrates our excellent partnership working through the project, with lead contractor RE:GEN Group, as well as Complete Certification Ltd, SPS Envirowall and Elvet Chartered Surveyors.

 

Fire and Security Matters Awards

promoting the importance of innovation in the fire safety and security sectors, while also underlining the highest standards of excellence.

We’re up for Fire Safety Team of the Year

Recognising our fire safety team and the work they’ve done over the last 12 months to improve fire safety standards and performance.

 

Internal Communications and Engagement Awards

Celebrating excellence in internal communications and highlighting the impact that internal comms has on a business.

We’re up for Best internal communications by a charity, NGO or NFP

This shortlisting particularly celebrates the success of our 2023 all-colleague conference, our biggest event colleague engagement event to date, entirely built on the wants and needs of colleagues across the organisation.
