What’s happened?
A small number of Karbon Homes customers have contacted us with fire safety concerns with their ovens. These ovens were recently supplied through our Home Comforts Furniture Rental Service.
We have spoken to the manufacturer, and they have confirmed there may be an issue with the batch that your oven was part of. Your safety is always our top priority, and we are therefore contacting all customers who have been supplied an oven from this batch.
We’ll be replacing your oven as soon as possible with a new model from a different manufacturer.
What do I need to do?
If you do use the oven, please do not leave it unattended while switched on.
If you see either of the following, you should please switch off the oven at the wall and stop using it immediately:
- Smoking/burning smell from hob
- Flames coming from the oven (you should only switch off the oven at the wall if it is safe to do so or at the fuse board if you know how to, and call the fire service on 999).
