Supported Housing residents help to raise £3,106 for Macmillan Cancer Support

Residents and staff across our supported housing schemes have helped to raise a whopping £3,106.28 for Macmillan Cancer Support with their Coffee Mornings.

Each of the schemes signed up to host a coffee morning to raise money for the cancer support charity, supporting Macmillan to help people living with cancer. 

At Aldwych House in South Shields they had a fantastic response, raising £929.65. They were supported by residents from Temple Park Court in South Shields who helped by making donations to the raffle and buying raffle tickets.

A special mention goes to resident, Sandra Spiller who got sponsored to have her hair shaved off for their event.

Sandra's sister Greta also came in to sell her homemade pieces, scones and cake, kindly donating all the sale money to the coffee morning.

Residents at Tynedale Grange in Haltwhistle raised £250 and enjoyed a great range of treats, including vegan cakes.

A coffee morning at Auden House in York helped to raise £100.

Athlone Court were able to raise £150.00 with their coffee morning.

The team at The Elms raised £484.60 from cash donations, a coffee morning and a raffle. All the raffle prizes were from residents, responder staff, family and friends.

Residents at Weavers Court in Alnwick raised £241.35 with their coffee morning which included a raffle, tombola and cake stall.

Earlier in September, St John's Court in North Shields had an amazing turn out, raising £950.68.

The staff at Karbon Homes and Byker Community Trust also got in on the act raising £85 with their coffee mornings.

Macmillan's Coffee Mornings are their biggest fundraising event to support people living with cancer.

People all over the UK host their own Coffee Mornings and donations raised on the day are made to Macmillan.
