Non-collection weeks

Information

Your tenancy agreement and your annual rent increase letter will state if you have non-collection weeks. You’ll have either 2 or 3 per year.

You’ll still pay the same as someone with no non-collection weeks, but you’ll pay your rent for the year in 49 or 50 weeks in a 52 week year (50 or 51 weeks in a 53 week year).

If you pay monthly you’ll pay the same amount each month as the non-collection weeks are already counted into your payment plan.

If you pay by weekly, fortnightly or four-weekly Direct Debit there’s nothing you need to do.

If your rent account is up to date, then we will pause or amend  your Direct Debit. You’ll receive an email or a letter from Allpay confirming this.

If your rent account is not up to date then your Direct Debit will collect as normal to help you catch back up.

Note: Please remember that if your usual Direct Debit payment date falls on a Bank Holiday or weekend then the payment will be collected on the next working day.

If you pay by weekly, fortnightly or four-weekly Standing Order and your rent account is up to date then you will need to contact your bank and ask them to pause the payments or amend the amount to allow for the non-collection weeks.

If you are behind on your rent then you should continue making your usual payments over these weeks as it’s a great opportunity to bring your rent account up to date and make a significant reduction in your arrears.

If you would like to make a payment prior to the free weeks to take advantage of them, make a payment over the Christmas period when we are closed or amend or change your Direct Debit to an earlier date for December only, then you can call us on the number 0808 164 0111 or visit MyKarbon.
