Activities will take place at venues across the North East from 23 July - 28 August.

SEND Friendly

Our Holiday Squad activities include Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) friendly activities. These activities are marked SEND friendly on our booking page.

For customers living in the South Tyneside, we are putting on a series of free activities with NECA:

  • Sessions will run from Monday through to Thursday, during each week of the summer holidays
  • All sessions run between 10am - 2pm
  • All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult to this event
  • Snacks and refreshments available throughout each session and free packed lunch provided for every child.
  • Pre-booking an registration is available here (Pre-booking is not essential and registrations can also be completed on arrival)

If you live in the County Durham area and your child is eligible for the Fun and Food programme, please reserve your places using the information provided by your child’s school. For all other bookings or additional places on Durham activities, please use the booking link below.

We have funded SEND places. To access these places, please visit North Tyneside Council's ease INTO page here and register your details.

  • if your child is eligible for income-related free school meals, you will be automatically approved to access free spaces
  • there are paid-for spaces available if you aren’t eligible for a free space and you can register for and use the booking system for these activities - please note you may need to wait up to three working days for your account to be approved

There are a small number of free spaces available for children who are not eligible for income-related free school meals, these are called ‘non-eligible’ spaces. The criteria for these ‘non-eligible’ spaces includes:

  • children with a special educational need or disability (SEND)
  • children in care
  • young carers
  • children on EHCP plans
  • children and young people from low-income working families
  • children and young people known to social care
  • children of refugees and asylum seekers
  • young people between 16 and 18 with SEND

If your child has a special educational need or disability (SEND), please make sure you fill in this information when you register on the booking system. Your child can then be approved to access non-eligible spaces.
