North East Housing Partnership

Our prospectus

A prospectus for a decade of renewal in the North East

Since the devolution deal was announced at the end of 2022, the members of the partnership have come together to collaborate on a prospectus for change.

This sets out our record in four key areas, highlighting work we are already doing, our offer to the region and how we could work with the North East Mayoral Combined Authority to amplify our work, and our asks of the new Combined Authority going forward.

A prospectus for change

This prospectus sets out how as a partnership we can tackle the challenges the region faces by making progress, together, in four thematic areas.

Regeneration and development

Delivering more new homes and unlocking regeneration across the region.

Quality of homes and investment

Improving the quality, safety, energy efficiency, and long term sustainability of existing homes.

Better lives

Improving life chances for residents through poverty reduction, skills, employment and family wellbeing

Homelessness, specialist and supported housing

Strengthening the system response for specialist housing needs and supported accommodation, and working with local authorities to relieve homelessness.

In each case, housing provides a starting point to wider social, environmental and economic outcomes. And in each case, these outcomes can be strengthened and enhanced by close partnership with the new Mayor and combined authority.
